Art and About Sydney is an annual festival where the city of Sydney is transformed into a massive art gallery. Streets, locations and landmarks are decorated with works and features by selected artists. It runs between Friday, 19th September – Sunday, 12th October, 2014.

Exhibitions are diversely captivating and engaging, through feature combinations of film, performance and fascinating interactions. Several photographic competitions make the dynamic collaboration exciting and real as the finalists are displayed in destinations around the city.
This year, Art and About Sydney have extended the ‘Sydney Life’ photography prize of $10,000 for professional and amateur photographers to incorporate a broader scale of ‘Australian Life’ where the winner and finalists will be exhibited in Hyde Park during the festival.
An introduced new competition that incorporates social media photographs #australianlife is where Instagram photos can be entered between 11 June and 18 September 2014 and the selected best are displayed on Art and About Sydney’s website, with a winner being selected on the 3rd October, receiving $5,000.
